Class Rules

Text in BLUE reflects rule changes adopted 2014

 

1.0 HULL:

LOA (including bumper, if used) 39 3/8" maximum, 39" minimum, mono-hull.

2.0 SAILS

2.1 Sail area 600 sq. in. maximum measured triangle (must have main and jib). Measured to edge  of  sail material.      

2.2 Mainsail:

2.2.1 Luff - 60" maximum and ¾" maximum across top (see drawing). Including headboard if used.

2.2.2 Roach - 2 ½" maximum measured from corner of clew to top of sail as shown in drawing.

2.2.3 Rounded Foot - 1" maximum.

2.2.4 Battens - Two times measured maximum roach. Four battens permitted (maximum).

2.3 Jibsail:

2.3.1 Roach 1 ½" maximum and ½" across the top (see drawing). Including headboard if used.

2.3.2 Rounded Foot - 1" maximum.

2.3.3 Battens - Two times the measured maximum roach. Three permitted (maximum).

2.4 Registration Numbers

2.4.1 Registration numbers shall be of a highly contrasting color and at least 3 inches in height and 3/8 inches thick.

2.4.2 Registration numbers shall be located in the upper half of the mainsail on both port and starboard sides of the mainsail with the starboard number on top,

2.4.3 Registration numbers on the jib are optional. If used they shall conform to 2.4.1 and be lo0cated in the lower third of the jib.

2.4.4 At the owner's option, the displayed registration number may consist of the last two or three of the registration number assigned by the class secretary. There should be space allowed in front of the sail numbers to add the prefix '1' when required.

2.4.5 All registration numbers on sails manufactured before July 4, 2015 are grandfathered.

 

3.0 MAST:

3.1 Mast height above deck 65" maximum.

3.2 Mast diameter ¾" maximum.

3.3 Masts that rotate or mechanically cant/pivot from side to side are prohibited, However, masts that rake or bend fore and aft for the purpose of tuning the rig are not prohibited. 

4.0 BOOM:

4.1 Boom and club diameters ¾" maximum.

4.2 For the purpose of the US One Meter Class Rules a single counter balencing weight for a jib boom or club is not considered shifting or moveable balast, but more than one counter balancing weight is prohibited.

5.0 RADIO:

5.1 Radio control - four functions maximum.

6.0 RUDDER:

6.1 Rudder must be aft of keel fin.

7.0 KEEL:

7.1 14 ¼" length maximum, measured as shown in the drawing.

8.0 PROHIBITED:

8.1  Multi hull and outrigger configurations, moveable keels, shifting and/or molveable ballast, bilgeboards, and/or bilgekeels, tunnel hull, trim tabs, rotating mast, wing sails, hydrofoils and other appurtenances that raise the hull out of water. For the purpose of this Section, batteries are not considered shifting and/or moveable ballast.

8.2 Any form of platform or pedestal, as of wineglass shape, which increases effective keel depth, except as noted on the drawing.(1989)

9.0 LOGO:

9.1 Class logo to be displayed in the upper third of mainsail (See drawing).
